Fun Things to do With Your Kids

Today I thought it would be fun to re-share some links to old posts that have some fun, easy, and inexpensive ideas for playing with your kiddos.

Make a felt board. Nothing fancy. Simple is always better!

Paint with water on a chalkboard, on a sidewalk, on a rock, on anything! Bonus, it's FREE!

No mess finger paint! Kids like painting no matter how you do it! This way leaves no mess and is fun for the kids to squish around. You could also tape it up to a window or glass door, experiment with color mixing, add glitter, etc.

Or, just get messy with it!

Play with water. Fill a bowl, a bucket, the bathtub. Add some toys or even just a cup or two. Endless fun for kids!

Create a sensory experience with different materials. Here's how I started.

What's your favorite thing to do with your littles?

Post Halloween

How was your Halloween?

We don't make too much of a big deal about it, but we still had loads of fun!

And loads of candy. Someone take it away from me!

This is my favorite time of year and I am more excited than usual because it means we are getting so much closer to welcoming our new little boy!

I wanted to share with you the costume that I made for Liza this Halloween. When I finally heard the same "pink owl" costume idea from Liza a few days in a row, I knew that's what she wanted to be. I really didn't want to spend money on a costume that she would only wear once, so I went looking for an easy DIY version.  I found my inspiration on Pinterest, of course.

Pure Joy Events Tutorial
I pretty much followed the tutorialexactly and it was pretty easy!
Here's how it turned out. Not perfect, but still cute!

My friend Pam of Heads or Tails Boutique made her fabulous owl hat!

I could not get a good picture to save my life, but hopefully you get the idea.

I am a little late to the party, but I am linking this post up to the super inspiring Pinterest Challenge over on Young House Love.

Since we are talking Halloween costumes, check out Katey's adorable kiddos! They are in the process of moving, but she sent me a few pictures.
