The Very Hungry Caterpillar Birthday Party

Jacob just turned one on March 11th!
The year certainly flew by.

His birthday theme was The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.

It was very simple with decorations. We color coordinated with the plates and balloons.

We matched the colors with the balloons
We got a few things from the Eric Carle store online like the invitations, napkins, and tablecloth. I never realized his museum is located in Massachusetts. Hope to go someday when I don't live so far away!

The very talented Paula V. made this beautiful cake! The pictures do not do it justice!

Front of the awesome cake!
We used the top of it as his smash cake!

Back of the cake

Crafty Sarah made his birthday hat and shirt! She cut the caterpillar out of the invitation and used it on top of the hat.

Isn't the hat so cute!

His shirt was made from computer transfer paper.

Sarah made his shirt too! That is an amber teething necklace.
He has had little Tylenol his whole life; it's a godsend!

Some of his presents went with the theme as well!

The book since he didn't have it!

An apple playset

wooden stacking toy

Another great book!

Stuffed caterpillar that he loves!

More books!

He also had a very special gift from his nine year old cousin, Julia.
She is a very gifted little girl and we are so honored to have this hanging in Jacob's room!

I hope you enjoyed a few pictures from my little caterpillar's first birthday! Their are so many more more ideas that go with this theme, we wanted to keep it simple and cheap! :)

Hope you are having great weather like us, enjoy it!
