New Sensory Table

Hey. Hey!

I thought I would show you what we are using for sensory play around here. As explained here, I have brought Liza's water table outside and bought a plastic bin from Target to use instead.

Here is what I came up with for Easter. I didn't buy anything except the Easter egg cups which we used last week to dye some eggs.

Enjoy the high quality IPhone pictures :)

What's inside:

  • plastic Easter eggs
  • Easter grass
  • some leftover yarn (from a wreath gone bad!)
  • 2 Easter books
  • bunny stuffed animal
  • foam butterflies
  • egg dye cups
  • wooden boxes (bought at Michael's a few months ago)
  • Easter egg dyeing scissors.

You can see in the above (blurry) picture, that Liza did some color sorting (That's my girl!) and I didn't even prompt her!  She is getting so big! I actually didn't even think about color sorting. I thought she would be more into just filling the cups then dumping them out.

She also tries really hard to use these bunny scissors. She is still learning!

The best part about the new set up is that I can cover it up and slide it right under my love seat when we're done!

Now you see it!

Now you don't!

That's it for now! What have you been up to?

XO Sarah

  1. Looks great! I love how kids take the initiative and learn through their play. I used the plastic eggs to hide lunch for the kids the other day and they had fun with that. Afterwards, some of them were sticky, so while I made dinner Josiah "helped" me wash them (read: he dumped water all over the place - that's what tile floors are for!).
